Background Info For Chock full o’ Nuts:

Chock full o’ Nuts is a brand of coffee originating from a chain of New York City coffee shops. Its unusual name derives from the 18 nut shops that founder William Black established under that banner in the city beginning in 1926. The company began roasting coffee during the Great Depression. “Chock full o’Nuts® is the Heavenly Coffee” became its famous jingle in 1962.

In 1953, William Black began to sell the coffee his customers loved in grocery stores across New York. By 1955, Chock full o’Nuts becomes the #1 coffee in New York City. Baseball legend Jackie Robinson joined Chock full o’Nuts as Vice President of Personnel in 1957.

Disney Aladdin Jumbo Postcard New

Disney Aladdin Jumbo Postcard New Front

Product Description For Disney Aladdin Jumbo Postcard New:

This listing is for ONE UNUSED NEW:

 Disney WDW
         Aladdin

Vintage Collectible Color Postcard Unused New.

@ Disney.
About 6.625 x 5 inches.
1992.

Front of card shows Aladdin, Jasmin, and The Sultan on the Magic Carpet. Iago and Abu are  blow the Magic Carpet. The Genie, Jafar, and Gazeem are in the sky above. The bottom of the front says “Disney’s Aladdin.” Back of card says: “In a faraway land of sand and sun, a tale is told of a magical lamp, a genie, an evil sorcerer, a princess and a poor street boy whose destinies meet beneath the stars of an Arabian night. It’s a mythical, magical carpet ride with Disney’s 31st full length animated feature, Aladdin.”

Background For Aladdin:

Aladdin is the titular protagonist of Disney’s 1992 animated feature film of the same name. A former street rat from the city of Agrabah, Aladdin spent much of his youth scraping for food and ducking guards with his monkey sidekick Abu. Though sanguine, Aladdin’s poor upbringing left him with severe insecurity. Consequently, he feels worthless and undeserving of love, specifically that of Princess Jasmine. He nevertheless sustained a heroically selfless deposition. Thus, he is entitled to a magic lamp concealing a wish-granting genie.

Aladdin is based on the eponymous character of the Aladdin folk tales featured in the Middle Eastern One Thousand and One Nights stories.

Aladdin’s Personality:

While harboring a modest amount of physical prowess, Aladdin’s true strength lies within his intelligence and wit. He utilizes these aspects to best his enemies, and such practices have proven effective in various situations throughout the franchise. He is a quick-thinker, with the ability to formulate a scheme (usually varying in scale, making him rather versatile) that ends in his favor. Aladdin also takes advantage of his societal stereotype to further his schemes, as most wouldn’t expect a meager street urchin to have the intellect to outwit others.

Although generally cheery and fun-loving in nature, Aladdin also shows himself to be insecure throughout the events of the original film. Being a street rat, Aladdin normally faced discrimination in the city of Agrabah whose inhabitants see him as a worthless member of society. This cruelty eventually led Aladdin to believe such claims; he saw himself as unworthy of Princess Jasmine’s affections, believing she deserved someone of higher class and, by extension, someone who can provide for her. These insecurities would prompt Aladdin to perform negative acts such as compulsively lying, going back on promises, and hiding his true self under the guise of “Prince Ali”.

Once the climax of the original film arrives, however, Aladdin is stripped of his aid (including magic and the help of his allies) forcing him to act on his own in order to save the city. He does so by putting his wit to use and successfully ends the battle victorious. Following these events, Aladdin became more accepting of his status, refusing to continue living a lie, and embracing who he is as a person.

Disney Chinese Theater Postcard MGM Studios

Disney Chinese Theater Postcard MGM Studios New Front

Product Description For Disney Chinese Theater Postcard MGM Studios New:

This listing is for ONE UNUSED NEW:

 Disney
MGM Studios
Chinese Theater
Vintage Collectible Color Postcard Unused New.

@ The Walt Disney Company.
About 6 x 4 inches.
Circa 1990.

Postcard shows exterior of The Great Movie Ride, which was modeled after Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Back of card says: “The Chinese Theater captures the glamour of Hollywood’s premiere movie palace, and promises great adventure inside for guests on The Great Movie Ride.”

Background Info For The Great Movie Ride

The Great Movie Ride closed permanently on August 13, 2017 to make way for an attraction named Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Further, since the closing of The Magic of Disney Animation attraction in July 2015, The Great Movie Ride has been the last attraction from Disney-MGM Studios’ (the former name of Disney’s Hollywood Studios) opening day to remain in operation. This attraction opened on May 1, 1989.  Moreover, ride length was 18 minutes, 44 seconds.

Overview/History Of The Great Movie Ride:

If you’re a movie buff, you didn’t want to miss seeing some old favorites in the Great Movie Ride.  Noteworthy, Disney housed this attraction in a full-scale replica of Hollywood’s legendary Graumann’s Chinese Theater.  Also, hand, foot (and paw) prints of popular Disney stars and characters were in the cement outside the theater.

Importantly, the line for the Great Movie Ride was one of the more entertaining lines to wait on.  Indeed, the theater “lobby” really impressed the guests.  For instance, the first part featured movie memorabilia such as the carousel horse from Mary Poppins and one of the three pairs of ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz.  Next, you weaved back and forth while watching movie clips on the big screen.  Notably, some of these were a glimpse of what The ride recreated inside.

From here, you entered a cavernous set where “ushers” directed you to the large trams.  In fact, these were actually two sets of trams that split up early into the show.  Noteworthy, depending on which section you were in, either a gangster or a Western bandit hijacked your tram while your hapless host/hostess was left behind.

Films Showcased In The Great Movie Ride:

Using film footage, special effects and audio-animatronic figures of famous actors, guests were treated to scenes in this order.   Firstly, Busby Berkeley’s “Footlight Parade,””Singin’ in the Rain,” and “Mary Poppins.”  Next, “The Publi Enemy,” “Man With No Name,” and “The Searchers.”  Also, “Alien,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” generic mummies, and “Tarzan The Ape Man,”  Finally, “Casablanca,” “Fantasia,” and “Wizard of Oz.”

Importantly, the ride’s finale featured a sentimental film montage sure to bring a smile.  Indeed, old and new clips were combined in a memorable recollection of some classic movie moments.

Background Info For Mickey Mouse:

Mickey Mouse is an animated character that Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks created in 1928.  He is an anthropomorphic mouse.   Notably, he is a cheerful optimist with an adventurous and mischievous streak.  In fact, estimated as standing 2′ 3″ (69 centimeters) and weighing 23 pounds (10 kilograms), Mickey is easily identified by his round ears, red shorts, falsetto voice, white gloves and cartoonishly large yellow shoes.

For 90 years, Mickey has been the cornerstone of the Disney empire.  His success paved the way for numerous breakthroughs in both the art of animation and the entertainment industry.  Mickey’s significance in pop culture came simultaneously with his public debut in Steamboat Willie.  Indeed, in  his first film, he wowed audiences with his cheerful smile and scampish personality.

From there, Mickey rapidly rose to the top of American culture.  In fact, The Mouse is the most popular and recognizable cartoon character in the world.  He’s since appeared in over 130 films and has received a combined eleven honors from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.  In 1978, Mickey became the first fictional character to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Background For Sorcerer Mickey Mouse:

Sorcerer Mickey Mouse is the magical form of Mickey Mouse, and his most famous role.  Further, Mickey Mouse as a sorcerer first appeared as the main character in the animated 1940 film Fantasia.  By the time Fantasia started to be made, audiences were annoyed because Mickey had nothing but good luck unlike his friends Donald Duck and Goofy.  Importantly, when audiences started to ignore Mickey, Walt Disney decided to cast him as the main character in the film Fantasia.  In fact, the plan worked and Mickey once again became popular.  Notably, Mickey was also given a new design.  His circle body was changed into a pear shape and his nose became smaller and fans say Disney made him cuter.  Thus, Mickey was transformed into a magical character that most people see today.

DISNEY CLUB 33
Collectible 2004 Christmas Ornament New.

Back says “Happy Holidays 2004” and has 33 Logo.

About 2.5 x 1.5 Inches.

@Disney.

Noteworthy, Unique And Hard To Find!!!

Background For Disney Club 33:

Club 33, a members-only fine-dining restaurant hidden inside Disneyland. The address for this prestigious club is 33 Royal St. in New Orleans Square. For folks who haven’t visited Disneyland, the park is divided up into “lands,” and each land has everything from rides to gift shops to restaurants. Notably, New Orleans Square is one of the lands in the park, and Club 33 is on the second story inside the French Quarter overlooking Tom Sawyer Island.

Club 33 is marked with a special “33” placard on the outside of a large door, with a lobby so beautiful you can only use your imagination to picture what it looks like. Surely, you better have your wallet ready though, because the initiation fee costs $25,000 and yearly fees are $10,000. It was also the only place in the park to serve alcohol, since Walt Disney never wanted hard liquor around the children in the park. This has now changed with the opening of Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland, where guests can buy liquor at Oga’s Cantina.

Club 33 was built after Disney traveled to the World’s Fair in New York in 1964. After that, Disney felt it would be a good idea to have a place where he could entertain corporate sponsors, royal dignitaries and celebrities. Furthermore, Disney was also constructing an apartment near the restaurant, and he planned on using the kitchen as his personal chef. Sadly, Disney never got to witness his masterpiece, as Club 33 opened in June of 1967, six months after he died.
